Baird, John Logie
Although many people don't realise it, it was a Scotsman,
John Logie Baird who invented what has become a favourite household appliance
worldwide. It was the television. With 24 hours of fine entertainment
to suit everyone's interests, the television was probably the best invention
in the field of entertainment since the theatre.
In 1926, John Logie Baird transmitted the first ever
television pictures, and TV was born.
Not as well known is the fact that John Logie Baird
worked on the development of radar during the war, which was originally
pioneered by another Scot, Sir
James Watson-Watt.
