The Erskine Bridge
Opened by Princes Anne on 2nd July 1971, the Erskine
Bridge spans the River Clyde. It is a large suspension bridge that carries
a Motorway across the Clyde near Glasgow. In the late 1990s it was hit
by an oil rig that was being towed up the River, causing the bridge to
be closed for several days.
