Historic
Biggar is a pleasant medieval town in the scenic Clyde
Valley, a town with a rich and varied history. There is
arguably nowhere else in Scotland
with as much of interest in the one town. Biggar and it's attractions
have won numerous awards, including Best Tourist Town In
Scotland, Scotland In Bloom, and individual awards
to it's museums.
Biggar
has a cross-section of history in the one location. The roots
of the burgh date back for centuries: there is evidence that
Biggar Common was inhabited in the Stone Age.
